Access database error message

R

Roni

I had system failure earlier this year and had to reload
everything. I run a Gateway/Pent2/Win98/Access 97.

When I try to open Access I get this error message:

"Can't find the database you specified, or you didn't
specify a database at all.
Specify a valid database name in the command line, and
include a path if necessary."

I followed the MS instructions for loading MDAC 2.5 sp2
and AcLin97.exe to no avail.

Another MS recommended solution is to RENAME A FONT, THEN
REINSTALL ACCESS by changing the font Hatten.ttf to
hatten.xxx - but my system won't allow me to do so.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to 'access' my
Access?

Are you trying to open the .mdb file, or the Access application? I have a
similar error at a client that thye workaround by opening Access first, then
browsing to the application
