Access 97 won't start on WinXP Pro.

Howard Sartori

I had to reload Office 97, including Access 97, on Windows XP Pro SP2. Now
when I start Access 97 I get this error: " can't find the database you
specified, or you didn't specify a database at all.. Specify a valid
database name in the command line, and include a path if necessary, so that
can find the application."
What is happening here?

Check out these kb articles:
"Can't Find the Database You Specified" Error When Starting Access 97 on
Computer with Office 2000 Small Business Tools

You receive a "Can't find the database you specified" error message when you
start Access 97 after upgrade to Office 2000

If those do not apply, could it be related to the My Documents path being
different than expected, e.g. if you logged on as a different user?
