Access creates additional fields in a table that are not wanted

Hi,

when we create a new table and create new fields in that
table, Access adds 4 fields to certain tables
automatically which are:

s_GUID
s_ColLineage
s_Generation
s_Lineage

Can someone help why Access 2000 does that? Can I change
the name of those fields (for ex. into sys_GUID and
sys_ColLineage for a better understanding)?

Thanks for reply.

These fields are essential when your database is Replicated: they keep
track of which tables have been synchronized with which other tables.

I'd suggest you read the excellent Replication Whitepaper which can be
found on http://www.trigeminal.com.

Bodo,

Those fields are used by Access to handle replication. If your db is
intended
replicated, leave them alone. If you don't want to replicate the db, then
fix that and
Access will quit adding them.
