HI I have been working on Access programing for now more then 10 years and I
have learned little bit of Access. I would like to get some kind of
certificate for the same, so if somecan guide me in the right direction, I
will really appreciate. Specially one of the MVP's of Access. And what are
the things that I need to do.
Thanks in advance.

MVP Arvin Meyer just posted this recently.
Perhaps it will help answer your question.

"Microsoft no longer provides a certification path for Access. My
certification proceeds that. The MVPs have been asking Microsoft to provide
a new certification path. At our next Summit meeting with Microsoft, I
intend to press further for a committment in that direction."

From what I've been hearing lately, certifications aren't as important as
experience these days. When you can attend a "boot camp" seminar, or a
website, that gives you the questions and answers to many MS certification
exams, you've learned nothing but the right answer to choose. Many
companies know this, so having experience and practical knowledge outweigh
certs.

Hi Jeff
Thanks for your reply. You mentioned something about summit. Is it some kind
of meeting that enyone can attend or is this through your company only. If
ther is any annual meeting or something like that please let me know.

Actually the quote was from Arvin. My company? No, no, no I only have
MS employees over at the house a few times a month. <g>

What Arvin was referring to was a summit meeting where MVPs can
meet with Microsoft employees/developers/team leaders and discuss
their respective fields. I would imagine they discuss problems, issues,
future directions, etc. that sort of thing. I do not believe these summits
are open to the general public

HA! I don't believe it for a second. I suspect they sit around guzzling
beer, gorging on copious amounts of free food, trashing their hotel rooms,
and terrorizing the horrified Microsoft staffers! Discussing problems,
issues, future directions? Access MVPs?! No way.. Those dudes rock!

Fred Boer

P.S. And your surprised they aren't open to the public? Imagine the
opportunities for blackmail!

I thought it would be best if I gave the *official* syllabus Fred.

With the exception of the speeches by Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer
these are most definitely *not* open to the general public or even
spouses of MVPs.

The press is asked to leave when the speech is over and the Q & A
session starts.

Nope, the one speech was open to the press. Not to the public.
