Is Microsoft considering adding a Calendar feature like ACT. I am seriously
considering going to Goldmine. Need to schedule and keep data in one
program.

I am not a Microsoft employee but I work for a Microsoft partner. I have
never heard that a calendar will be incorporate in Access. There is a
calendar control that you can use in forms and program for many purposes.

Microsoft Outlook with Business Contact Manager may be a good choice if you
use Outlook for email and calendar. Then, you can keep your business
contacts and sales opportunities in the same program. Just a thought!

Hi Melissa,

Access is a development tool. It is not in the same classification as ACT or
Goldmine. You can never compare the two (i.e. you're literally comparing an
apple and an orange). Access has calendar capabilities that can be
programmed to behave like ACT or Goldmine. As a matter of fact, Access can
be programmed to do anything ACT and/or Goldmine does and more.

If you're waiting for Access to do what Goldmine or ACT does, it will never
happen. Your options would be ACT, Goldmine, Outlook with the addition of
Contact Manager, etc.

Thanks for letting me know.

Ya, I know of Access's calendar capacities. It's not what we need (and hint,
a lot of other companies, who are looking for a scheduling/database type
software). If Goldmine can do it, why won't Microsoft just design something
like it or add this feature to Access. It is ridiculous that large
corporations have to look elsewhere.

Hi Melissa,
I posted a comment to your orginal post.
..... If Goldmine can do it, why won't Microsoft just design something

But Microsoft did design something like it. Contact Manager for Outlook
(single user), Business Contact Manager (for multi users).

or add this feature to Access.

Well..., as in my other post. Access does have calendar capabilities, but
Access is a development tool. It is NOT a contact management software. It
will never do what Goldmine or ACT does. However, you can certainly program
it to do what Goldmine or ACT does.
