I tried to compact my access database in a directory when
space was limited. I got a series of errors for which I
clicked ok while it was compacting.

When I tried to open the database I get an error: "No read
permission on objects: "Tables"... "

Can someone help?

Do you recall the errors?

Sign of corruption. See the Corruptions page at my website.

But I hope you have a backup.

FWIW, and not that it helps you now, but I always rename the MDB and
compact back to the original name. Thus keeping the original MDB on
the system.
