Access 2007 SP2 focus gone after VBA Find

R

Rickhubner

After installing MS Office SP2, I have noticed that after initiating a
find command through VBA and then returning the focus to the specific
form, that the focus and the cursor is not assigned to any specific
control.

Various attempts to rectify the lack of focus have not solved the
problem. However, uninstalling SP2 corrects the problem.

Any thoughts?

I too have the same problem, and not just after a 'find' command. In my case
it always seems to be going between the forms header and detail sections. The
status bar shows the correct field, as does screen.activecontrol.name, but
the cursor never appears anywhere and pressing Tab won't make it appear or
move either.

I've tried repaints and repeated setfocus commands and nothing will make the
focus re-appear anywhere without mouse clicking anywhere in the detail part
of the form, at which point the cursor appears in the correct position.

This is a right pain as I regularly use the header section with the detail
hidden, and then set the forms recordsource from header input, then make the
detail section visible.

Hopefully someone will have a workaround.

Tony,

It helps to know someone else is experiencing similar problems. I still
haven't found a solution other than uninstalling SP2. I didn't note that my
application is a 2003 MDB which I don't want to switch to a 2007 DB at this
time. I don't know for sure whether the problem would still exist if it was
in the 2007 DB format.

If you hear anything or find a solution, please let me know.

Thanks, Rick

Rick,

Mines in 2007 format, so I don't think the format it was created in makes
any difference. I haven't tried reverting to SP1, and have been telling users
it's and access bug, which hopefully will be fixed in due course, but I'm
beginning to believe it won't which is annoying.
