Hi, I had a database that used to have a password and it no longer does. I
have checked with shareware password programs and they all say there is no
password to retrieve.

However, when I start the database it says enter password!!!

Help!

That sure sounds like it has a password. Why do you think it no longer
has a password??

I have used a number of different shareware programs that retrieve the
passwords. All of them say there is no password.

Are you using the mdb format or accdb format? Is it asking for
username/password, or password only.

Has someone perhaps opened the file in Word? Doing this would (in past
versions) irretrievably corrupt the file.

That of course would only work if there was nothing wrong with the file
and the shareware program happened to work with the version you have.
