MS Access 2007
MS Access 2007 Developer Extensions (downloaded from MS 8/28/07)
SourceSafe 6.0d
Windows Vista Professional

I have a database that I want to put under source control. It was
developed with Access 2007 and is in the accdb format. I installed
the developer extensions and SourceSafe on the PC. The "Source
Control" ribbon and Office Button -> Developer menu have been added in
Access. I use the following steps in an attempt to add the database
to SourceSafe:

1. Open the database in Access

2. Click on the "Source Control" ribbon

3. Click on "Add database to source control"

4. Answer "yes" when it asks if it can close the database

5. Select the repository and provide username and password when
prompted

6. Select the parent project in the SourceSafe repository

Nothing happens visually. The ".scc" directory is created in my
database's directory, but not populated with any exported objects. No
files are added to the project in SourceSafe.

Has anyone else seen this behavior with Access 2007? I've used Access
2003 (different PC and repository) before with no problems.

Thanks,

no, I can't confirm this behaviour. Everything works fine when I add an
Access database to visual source safe.

Interesting. I wonder if there is an issue with something in my
installation. I may have to test from another PC if I can find one
with Office 2007.

Thanks,

I was contacted yesterday via email by a gentleman who pointed me to
this answer:
<http://microsoft.mailarchive.ca/public.access/2006-07/4073.html>. I
would need to install this service pack:
He indicated that this fixed the problem for him. I have not had a
chance to test it.

I checked my setup and found that I already have SP6 installed. I'm
now having this problem on another system, but with only one database.
