Access 2007 -- Current Date Field causing "Enter Parameter Value"error

I received an Access 2007 database from a coworker. When I try to
insert the current Date field into a report (using the Date & Time
field button), I get a dialog box that asks "Enter Parameter Value"
for that date field when I try to view the report. No matter what I
enter into this dialog box, it will only display "#Name" in the
report.

If I create a new report that automatically adds the current Date and
current Time fields, I get the same problem (it wants a parameter
value for both the date and time fields).

Interestingly, if I use the =Now() field instead of =Date(), I don't
have any problems at all.

I ran the "Compact and Repair Database" process and it didn't help at
all.

Has anyone else seen this problem too? Any ideas on a solution(s)?

Mark,

I noticed that nobody answered.

Your description really threw me until I figured out that you really don't
mean "field" when you say field. It probably threw other people too, you
may want to repost.

That error message is when you specify something that it doesn't recognize
as a field name or valid function. It thinks that you are defining a new
variable and then askes the user for it's value.
