Access 2007 can't save record

I have split an Access 2007 database. The back and front ends are stored on a
SBS2003. Users have Modify privileges to the location with a shortcut to the
front end available for easy access.

The users are adding records to the form. All users have the SAME Mandatory
profile attached to their login accounts. However, some users can save their
records when the database closes, others get an error that says the record
can not be saved at this time.

Kick everyone out of the database. Keep an eye on the server folder.
The ldb file will be deleted by the last one out. Now allow one user
in there with the problem. Does an ldb file get created? I'm guessing
not, which would illustrate that this user doesn't have Create rights
on the folder, and Access switches to readonly mode.
