Access 2003 pivot table subform

All - Pre-thanks to anyone who can offer advice here...

I've got an access 2003 Form, with a sub-sub-pivot table form. and for some
reason, it started failing to display the data when the pivot table on open,
and I’m not quite sure why. I get a message where the pivot table data
should be stating:

“The query could not be processed: o Query canceled. Press F9 to restart the
query and display the data.â€

ï® When I run the query manually it runs, just fine.
ï® When I open the pivot form directly, it opens and displays what is expected.
ï® When the pivot table form is open as the sub form, it fails per above.
ï® The only workaround I’ve found is to right-click on the tab control and
select "Sub form --> Form" , then the pivot table displays.

Anyone seen anything like this?

-- I've tried using the Me.pvttableOrder.requery, but that does not seem to
force the pivot table data to display correctly, but the pivot table choice
boxes (filter, column, row) are actually populated correctly, just the data
isn’t displaying.

ï® I've got the properties (that seem relevant to me) currently set to (I’ve
tried many combinations)
 Default view: Pivot Table
 Form, Datasheet, Pivot chart View = No
 Pivot Table, Layout View = Yes

Mini background:
The pivot table is actually tied to a text box control in a form 1 level up,
to force synchronized views of data on each of the tabs. The pivot table
form itself, uses a query to get its data, and the query filters are driven
by the combo boxes. At one point the pivot table data actually displayed
always, I’m not certain what causes/caused the data portion to stop
displaying, if it’s a setting or what, any help/insight would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time.
