I have a new laptop with Microsoft Office 2003 installed. Access will not
start. I get an error message Mso97 not found.

Excel, word, etc all work fine.

I am assuming that you are referring to mso97.dll file. For whatever it's
worth, I have Access 2003 on my PC and I did a search mso97.* and didn't
find anything. Are you trying to open at Access 97 database in Access 2003
when you get the message, or just opening the Access application? Probably
need to reinstall.

Access only comes with Office Pro, not Office Standard.

And if it is asking for the Microsoft Office 97 library, something
else has been installed at some stage. Who did the software
on your 'new' laptop?
