Access 2003 error "There was an error executing the command."

Hello all,

I have an issue where I had installed Office 2007 on my new Vista machine
and due to the great new feature (NOT!) of Access 2007 caching linked tables
when the db was opened, I had to "downgrade" to Access 2003. Every since I
downgraded to Access 2003 one of my databases comes up with the "There was an
error executing the command" comes up when I try to launch my report from the
switchboard. This database works fine with a clean Access 2007 (even though
it caches data and changes to sharpoint while the db is open are not
reflected), and works just fine with a clean Access 2003. I have tried to
reinstall both the Sharepoint parts for Office 2003 as well as Office 2007.
This is a HUGE issue as I am not able to run my DB.

Thanks Microsoft for messing up a great thing. If anyone has the answer on
how to turn Linked Table Caching off, of 2007, let me know as that will
probably fix my issue.

Thanks to all in advance for your support of this hidious new application!

From the switchboard table, can you identify what command it is attempting
to execute when it fails?

It is just executing a report. Its a report with a couple of queries tied
together as well as every query is just using the Sharepoint Linked tables.

Thanks again!

What data is in the table for this particular action?
Is it an OpenReport?
What other arguments are there?

Does the report open manually (i.e. directly from the database window)?

It's the simplest of simple for the switchboard. The Switchboard runs a
report, the reports runs a query that ties 4 queries together. The 4
sub-queries are queries against sharepoint data. The "master" query does not
run on my machine. I've tried to strip columns until I found the issues and
after a couple of hours of removing and adding, I came up with nothing. The
query runs on every other Access 2003 computer in my office, so I'm very
confident it's not the query or the report. Also it ran on my machine when I
had Access 2007, so I am pretty confident it's not a query/report/switchboard
issue. It seems it may be some sort of issue with the fact I'm running
Access 2003 with Office 2007 (minus Access) installed on the same box.

Thanks again!

If it runs on every other computer, then you are attempting to troubleshoot
what's different about your computer.

Sandbox mode activated? See:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/239482/en-us

Different service pack for msaccess.exe or msjet40.dll?
Locate the files (typically in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11
and C:\Windows\System32 respectively.) Right-click and choose Properties.
Compare the version numbers. If you need service packs for Office or JET:

You mentioned you've installed Office 2007 Standard, but kept A2003. That
could be a factor, but I can't think of what it might be. I'm using Office
Pro 2003 and Office Pro 2007 on the same machine without problem.

Yup, I'm an idiot, never applied the Service Pack to Access. Seems that the
Service pack has resolved the errors.

Thanks Allen!
