Access 2003 duplex printing

We have upgraded all of our customers from Access '97 to Access 2003.
Several users have HP printers that allow duplex printing. Using Access '97,
they had no problem duplex printing, but since upgrading to Access 2003
reports will only print on one side. All other applications they have
continue to print on both sides. Nothing has changed in out code, so I'm at
a loss to figure out why this is happening or how to correct it.

It's nothing whatsoever to do with Access: Access gets the printer
definition from the operating system and uses it.

Is the report associated with the default printer, or with a specific
printer? (This is done through File | Page Setup while the report's open in
Design view). Has that printer been defined as having Duplex capabilities to
the OS?

We have had the exact same problem for months! All other Office apps work
fine and Access will print double-sided in some circumstances, but not
reports when printing from VBA (or from File>Print, if memory serves).

Our infrastructure service provider says they have now found a solution. As
soon as we have tested and confirmed it works I will post the solution.

That was my answer exactly! But then why does every other app still print
duplex?

Hmmm... Well I haven't looked at that. It may have happened inadvertently
here by one of the developers. The clients only have the runtime and a .MDE
so I don't think it's anything they could have changed...

Yes - see my first reply. Nothing changed from working to not working except
Access.

Ron, I have a Canon ip3000 that is capable of printing duplex.
I installed the printer twice, and set the default profile for the second
printer as duplex printing. I named the first printer ip3000 and the second
ip3000Duplex. These are both the same physical printer. When I want duplex
printing, I print to ip3000Duplex. This has worked for me with AC2003 and
AC2007, Windows XP.
