Access 2000 Jet error problem

Hi,

I'm running Access 2000 SP1 and just ran into the following error "Jet has
stopped the process because you and another user attempted to change the
same data at the same time" on one of my databases. I've followed the KB
273956 and 247771 articles and just get "Error compacting database" with the
jet compact utility downloaded from 273956. Obviously I can't open the db
in Access either.

Any other suggestions how I can recover the database or even some of the
data?
