Accept invitations to multiple calendars

When I receive an invitation from someone else to accept a calendared item
they have sent to me, in the past I have just accepted and it went into my
calendar. I now have more than one calendar to maintain for different
purposes. (Don't ask).

How do I determine which calendar the acceptance will apply itself. I tried
to drag the acceptance to one of the calendars, but that did not seem to
work. There must be some way to maintain more than one calendar.

The meeting accept/decline will always show in your default calendar. It
cannot be changed. You can drag the meeting item once accepted to another
calendar but the accept/decline function will always place it in your
default calendar.
