Accept Encoding

HI,

my problem is that the Internet Explorer installed in my computer doesn't
send ACCEPT-ENCODING header to web servers.
In my website I can send gzipped page only to browsers that support this
type of compression.
In general IE6 support this compression, but I can't understand why my
browser can't.
I've tried with firefox, netscape and other IE6 installed in computers in
my office, and they works.
Is there a key in Windows registry that I miss, or whatever?
Do you think a spyware may have changed the default setting?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

I have seen evidence of users' firewalls interfering with that header.
E.g. replacing each character in the the parameter list with an asterisk.

Thanks but HTTP 1.1 is checked as default and it still doesn't work. And I
am connected directly to my ISP.
