PowerPoint allows you to insert special characters via the standard Windows
method of using the numeric keypad while holding down the ALT key.
For example, to type an acute accented lower-case e (é) you would hold down
the ALT key and type 0233 on the numeric keypad. Or, to enter an inverted
question mark (¿) you would hold down the ALT key and type 0191.
You can use the Character Map utility (Start -> All Programs -> Accessories
-> System Tools -> Character Map), included with Windows, to see what
4-digit combinations to use for various glyphs are not available via single
keystroke on your particular keyboard.

sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.
