Suddenly I get two of every accent I type on my keyboard. And I have no
possibility to put the accent on top of a letter, as ´´e for instance.
Anybody knows how I can get rid of this problem?

Which keyboard are you using?

Look in "Regional and language options" in the Control Panel to set the
keyboard.

You could try installing another keyboard, deleting the keyboard language
you normally use and then reinstalling it.

Try another keyboard first to see if it's a hardware or windows problem.
It's nice to have a spare keyboard around anyway. Just get a ten dollor
one.

Attached is latest version of the document (last mod 16th Nov 2005).

This version has hotkey diagnostics (two at that) built in.

OK, so I tried my spare keyboard. Same thing. Must be a problem in Windows, or?

What keyboard language do you normally use, and what is it set to in
Control Panel?

Problem with installing another keyboard is that the keyboard is part
of my laptop therefore I need to sort it out via the Control Panel.
Will let know if what you suggested work, thanks any way for your help.

The problem is not there. There would be a lot more keys behaving strangely
and letters under the "wrong key", if the keyboard language were not correct.
Everything corresponds OK, but the accents dubbel print, and come out as
apostrophes instead of accents above the letter.

Not necessarily, if you were using the US keyboard instead of US --
International, for example. But I wasn't saying your keyboard settings
were necessarily wrong, just asking what they were. It's hard to know
where to start to help you if you won't even give basic information like
that.

Same problem here, tried language settings, other keyboard, remove and
re-install keyboard and its drivers, but no solutions found....

By the way, I also tried to find out if this problem also occurs om my
screen-keyboard, and yes is does, so I think it is a windowsproblem and not a
hardware problem.
