Ac 2007 Timer hangup in ACCDE

Why would a timer event work fine in an ACCDB but not in the ACCDE compiled
version? This very same programming worked fine in Access 2000 to 2003 MDE
versions. The specific problem is that the timer event is not being run at
the 'Timer Interval" setting. The initial setting freezes on the screen. Is
this a 07 bug? Is there a workaround?

What is it exactly what you do with the timer. Is it just set with an
interval and not triggering like for instance a splash set with a value of
3000?

Let me know so I can try this out and see if i can repro this...

Thanks for your help. I was increasing the font of a label in an opening
splash screen. By playing with all the variables, I found that removing
'Private' from 'Private Sub Form_Timer()' routine freed up this to run in the
ACCDE. Why would be interesting to me. I tumbled to this because Help's
example does not have private in it. I had a public variable in the module
and that may have caused the conflict. Thanks for your interest and help. HTH
