hi,
just a simple question :)
is ddr memory better then sdram?

kev

Basically yes, DDR is the main memory used in newer PCs today.

DDR can theoretically move twice the amount of data by using the rising
and falling edges of the bus signal, SDRAM only uses the rising signal.

FAQ at www.theddrzone.com might help more. ;p

Simple answer: Yes, IF you've got a mo/bo where it fits.

It's not speed, it's throughput/bandwidth. DDR does not transfer data twice
as fast as SDR. DDR transfers twice as much data in the same clock cycle
when compared to SDR.

Bandwidth is derived from speed.

(EFFECTIVE clock rate * bus width)/8 = bandwidth

hi again :)
thanks for all the info. it might solve a problem i'm having.
