About IMAP Account

Outoging message was moved to Sent Items folder of IMAP account with a rule.
I found that attachment became Winmail.dat in the folder, but recipient
received the attachment properly. The reason for moving outgoing message to
IMAP account is to facilitate access with webmail and other email clients.
Winmail.dat can be interpreted by Outlook, but not the others. Is there any
way to resolve it? Thanks.

I'm using OL2003 on XP Pro SP2.

What was the message format of the original message? If you use plain text
or HTML, it should not be a winmail.dat.

That's the same problem, MS has since several jears in prior versions.
MS isn't able to solve the problem. It doesn't make any difference in
using html or plain-text or something else...
the big problem is, that outlook converts normal mails into their own
tnef format, which creates the winmal.dat attechment! if you move a mail
into a different folder, the winmail.dat will appear from alone.

i really hope, that in the next version ms will solve the problem!! but
i'm waiting now for a few years... :-(

cheers, wumbes
