about:blank.. Major Issue!

Hi,
I have been plagued for some time by the elusive
about:blank homepage changer. First I tried manually
changing the default homepage address to msn.com, using
Internet Options, but this changed back to about:blank
whenever I reloaded the browser. I then downloaded WAS
Beta in the hope that it could restore my default
internet browser settings, but the about:blank is STILL
refusing to go away! This has started to affect my
viewing of certain sites, in full or partially, and I'm
getting really stressed because nothing will work. Please
please help, if anyone can.
Thanks a lot,
Harriet.

Thanks a lot,

Try using hijack this. Do a google on hijack this,
download the program (small but powerful). Be sure to
follow the instruction NOT TO SAVE to desktop...or move
the program to your C drive after download. Run hijack
this and save logfile. Then go to one of the sites that
analyze hijack this (same google search) and they will
tell you what to delete. It is great, but be sure to
follow their instructions carefully. The program asks
you select which lines in the registry to remove. You
need advice from an expert to do this. Techguide and
some other site will do all of this for free.
