About accounter in tables or forms

Hi!
Do somebody knows how to return back accounter? I deleted the records in the
forms/tables and then efter deletion all my records begin from the not nummer
1 but from for ex 40. I find one way how to return back to 1 I erased
idnummer in the tables design view and then wrote another one. Do someone
knows some better way to return to 1 efter deletion of recors in the tables.?

Compact and repair will also make your tabel start with one again.

In a relational database, the counter does not matter other than to preserve
the integrity of the key. If your database is properly designed, you will
have more the 1 table with connected relationships based upon the key.
Changing the number, negates the relationship.

Further, what would happen, for instance, if you destroyed a check in your
checkbook? Would you expect the rest of them to renumber?
