AbiWord is a cross-platform Open Source word processor. The goal is to make
AbiWord full-featured, and remain lean.

Changes:
New features include tables, footnotes, endnotes, mail merge, database
connectivity, revision marks, and numerous server-side features such as
command line scripting. It features superb MS Word import ability as well
as perfect import/export to Rich Text Format.

.... but be aware that (from posts in the Abiword user forum) the
new version 2.0.0 hasn't been released for Windows yet.

Apparently some significant bug needs to be ironed out first.

Yeah, Windows version is a little bit on hold for that reason. We are
trying to iron things out, the problem is that the people that know
that part the best work on Linux or MacOS X, not Windows.

But be assured that the best is being done to have this issue solved
for 2.0.1.
