Abit KX7-333R and memory part 2

I have purchaced 2 PC2700 512MB Inferon for my computer. If I only have one
stick of memory in the computer everything works great, but the point of
having two is to use them and that is not working so great. My OS is
windows XP so it doesn't have that memory issue that ME and lower has. I
have tried ever config in my DIMM slots and none of them work. In some
configs I get nothing but one long beep every 5 secs. (memory error), in
other configs my computer is about to load windows when it restarts, and in
other configs my computer stops (everything remains on, but the process
seems to halt) just before the Windows XP load screen. I have had both
pieces of memory in the system one at a time and everything works great
(with the exception of wanting more memory). I have lowered my DRAM FSB to
133 to try and help things and increased the voltage for the DRAM to 2.75
(default is 2.55). Nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated.

My guess is that the two sticks are not matched, probably
someone put a wrong part in the wrong box.

Have you checked the BIOS just to be sure that nothing is
not set correctly?

One other thought, do you have a big enough power supply to
handle all those drives and a full gig of RAM? Disconnect
all but the boot hard drive and see if the computer will
boot with both RAM sticks installed.

Have also read that sometimes ECC memory is required on some motherboards
when using more than 512 mb.
