all I get is an audio post error "CPU Overclocking Failure" and it
won't post at all. I tried resetting the cmos but it didn't seem to
help. I wore my anti-static bracelet and took all the usual
precautions, used stand-offs in all the same places as the previous
case and everything else I could think of... but this is my first
install into an aluminum case and I'm wondering if there are any
other sort of grounding issues (maybe with the power supply) that are
different from a normal case and maybe I fried something? Other than
that I just can't think of a reason anything would have gotten
shorted out. I've tried taking everything out of the case and booting
with the bare minimum video card HD, 1 stick of memory... but I still
can't get past the audio error message. I've even tried reseating
the CPU but nothing helps.
And if I've really cooked the processor... how would I determine if
the motherboard survived (or would the audio error message be a good
indicator) ?
your clock is broken - you will get an answer in May when the rest of us
catch up.
