A8V: bootorder always changes from SATA to IDE (mobile rack)

I upgraded to A8V from an old PC. I have two removalbel IDE disk drive
racks connected to Primary master and secondary master which should be
used with different Data HDs (all set to master, slave is DVD).
Therefore I want(ed) to use a SATA as boot-disk. The problem. When I
insert an IDE-drive the boot order always changes to the IDE drive.
After setting in "boot device priority" to SATA it works until I remove
the IDE, boot with SATA only, shutdown, insert the IDE and boot again.

Is it possible to disable IDE booting completely, or to select bootorder
from SATA permanently. I do not find such feature.

Thanks for every hint ;)

Somoe more information/question

The SATA is currently connected to the Promise as RAID (configured by
the retailer).
As I only use one drive, can I swich to non RAID without loosing data.
Could this influence the boot behaviour?

Or, should I connect to the VIA controller
Could this influence the boot behaviour?

Thanks
