A7V600 ram requirements

I'm considering building a system based on an A7V600 and I want to be
sure about getting the right RAM. I will be putting in an Athlon XP
2500 (Barton), and the ram will be one stick of 512MB 400MHz PC3200
DDR SDRAM. My question is, will it work with one stick of 512 only or
do i need two sticks of 256mb? I'll be running it normal speed, no
overclocking. The reason I ask is that i see some suppliers selling
RAM in pairs.

Should be fine.

The pairs are often marketed at Dual Channel setups such as nForce2.
