Its very likely the bios is waiting for a device to respond, have you
added/enabled or removed any pci cards, onboard devices, or
harddrives/cdroms lately?

Go into bios and check if you havent enabled a device thats not present. My
guess is that its probing the IDE, try set non existing devices to NONE
instead of AUTO or USER. Like if you only have a harddrive (master) and
cdrom (slave) on primary channel, disable both devices on the secondary.

It would help to pinpoint the problem, if you told us what happens after the
5 minutes break, does it come up with a list of ide drives, irq's or what is
it waiting for ? I assume it halts right AFTER the memory check.

No it halts before it does the memory check. After the 5 minut
break is list the device with irq and all that and goes in windows.. I
don't know what it's looking for..

On next boot-up, re-set the BIOS to setup defaults and see if that helps.
Sune has the right idea-- BIOS is looking for a device that isn't there or
is trying to run an incorrect setting.
