A7N8X-X power problems.

Hi all,

I have recently (late last night) installed a new A7N8X-X with a new AMD
Athlon XP 2800+ and 512Mb PC2700 ram. When I first switched everything on
the cpu fan span for about 1 second and then stopped. After that I could
not get the thing to switch on and the led on the board was not lighting up.
Today I have swapped the psu and all that happens is the cpu fan spins, the
led comes on (not very brightly though?!?) and nothing else, the power
button has no effect.

Does anyone have any experience of this or any suggestions. Let me know if
you need any more detail.

thanks in advance.

Could the mobo be shorting out on the case somewhere? Might want to try
the mobo out of the case, make sure there are no unused standoffs, back
plate (the fingers?) are clear of the ports on mobo, etc,.,

Take it out of the case and try to turn it on on top of an insultated
table. Check that you don't have a bent pin on the bottom of the CPU
and also make sure that you've inserted it in the correct orientation.

Thanks for the replies, but it was dead on arrival. Has gone back and has
been replaced by an Abit.

Thanks again.
