A7N8X-E Deluxe Sound problem

Frédéric Milin

I just mounted a A7N8X-E Deluxe and i plug my old PCWorks FourPointSurround
that i had with a soundblaster live on a previous pc. i did plug the front
and rear audio in the purple and yellow orange jack of the motherboard (
Surround L/R and Center/LFE jack)

And the problem is that i don' t have any system sound !!!

When i test them in the nforce tray i can hear the test "left/right ..." but
if i try to listen to system sound in the config panel, nothing , also no
sound on the tv tuner from my 9800 se AIW, which is plugged to my line in
connector.
But i can hear all the sound if i use a headphone or a simple two speaker
connected to the line-out jack !!!

Any ideas ??? Is my 4pointsurround system two old ???

Frédéric,
I believe you have your plugs incorrect. The front speakers (L/R)
should be changed to the lime jack. Plug the rear set into the purple
jack. Your AIW is OK in the light blue jack. The orange jack is used
if you have a separate plug for center/sub, which is normally used in 6
speaker systems. The sound from your tuner card is stereo and it's
sound is normally heard on the output of the lime jack. Those changes
should get you going again.
