A7N8X-E Deluxe newbie OC and memory

Just got it up and running with an Athlon XP 2500+. Sandra says it's slower
than an XP 2400+. I have one 512mb stick of PC4000 memory. Do I need 2 of
them? Is that how dual-channel works? The other question is about
overclocking. Is ther a utility that will let me overclock a Barton 2500+
somewhere between 2500 (1.84GHz) and 3200 (2.2GHz) in case it's not stable
as a 3200+?

Dual channel requires some RAM in both Channels... that's how it works. But
I wouldn't put the slowness down to a lack of Dual Channel.

Yeah, it's called the BIOS. Set the FSB between 166MHz and 200MHz, the
default multiplier on the likely multiplier-locked Barton 2500+ is 11, which
means you have ~33steps between 1.83GHz and 2.2GHz. Oh., and run your RAM
in synch with the FSB.
