if i keep pc running it runs fine but constantly warns me of cpu failier.

Any ideas ......

There must be better advice, but I would just turn off the POST reporter
in the BIOS, if all else is well. (I get memory failure reports often
enough
that I turned mine off)

Are you sure it's not saying "CPU Fan Failed"? If you're using an 80 or
92mm fan, especially one that takes a second or two to spin up to full
speed, and/or your CPU fan spins at under 2,000RPM, you'll get that warning.

If your fan is reliable, ignore the warning. Asus thinks that 1) we all
still need/use 6,800RPM CPU fans, and 2) they're spinning at full speed the
millisecond that the PC starts. [shrug]

My guess is the CPU FAIL message repeats endlessly...
Post repoter won't shut off?
Maybe plug memory in single channel.
Maybe put memory at 100%.
Maybe test memory...one stick at a time.
Maybe bad MOBO

Maybe turn off the post reporter.

Had this problem.....post reporter WON"T shut off when message plays
endlessly, not just at boot.
CPU was fine, memory tested good individually, but not doing dual channel.
That was with palomino and memory at 150%.

AWRIGHT YOU GUYS!!! Here's the solution:
Check your POWER SUPPLY!! I was getting the same message, "system failed
CPU test". I found that the 3.3V
rail voltage was fluctuating out of range. A power supply transplant
stopped it. You can shut the message up also
by installing & running the Winbond Voice Editor that came on your CD. You
can edit/delete the message. It's the second one from the top in Winbond
screen. But that only stops the message, doesn't cure the cause. Check
that power supply!! And if you get a voice message saying "system failed
memory test", check your Bios settiings.

Been there, done that.
