A7A266 & 2400+ = 2000 ?

Hi,

In the bios, the frequency is only 2000 although the processor is a 2400+.
Why ?

Because AMD advertises the CPU as having the same performance as an Intel
being clocked at 2400 MHz. They claim that they can do more work per clock
cycle and don't have to clock it as fast for equivalent performance. In
other words, they only need to run it at 2000MHz for 2400MHz equivalent
Intel performance.
