I have a 4-5 year old mobo that seem to have USB 1 and XP Pro SP2 but don't
know how to check if I have 1 or 2, anyway, the problem:

My new cell-phone communicates to a PC via Blue-Tooth, I go buy a USB BT
plug-in adaptor and install the software, plug it in and turn on the phone BT
and it starts to work for a couple minutes then my OS has to close the
explorer window as it crashes.

Do I need better USB or BT device or what, any ideas helpful.

Sorry I can't help with your main question but to determine if you it's
USB2 open device manager. Right click My Computer | Properties | Hardware |
Device Manager. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section. For
USB2.0 there should be one that says Enhanced Host Controller. If it's
there double click that entry | Driver | Driver Details. For USB2 there
will be a driver file usbehci.sys.
