I am unable to send or receive email from Outlook or
Outlook Express, but can from Hotmail or Comcast.net. The
problem started within the past 24 hours, possibly after
installing latest Dell upgrade online. I get the time-out
error message above, followed by

Account: 'mail.comcast.net (1)',
Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19.

No problem accessing broadband provider.

What to do?

"mail.comcast.net(1)" tells me that you might have more than one
Comcast account set up in your Outlook.

Tools->Accounts

and delete any that reference Comcast. Once you have deleted the old
accounts, set up a new account with your current Comcast settings. If
you are unsure of your Comcast mail settings, call Comcast tech
support and they will walk you through it.

Good Luck...
