"A Runtime error has occurred".....what is wrong?

I’m getting “runtime error†notices when browsing (since correcting problem
with MS06-015, from article 918165).
For example one website always results in “A Runtime error has occurred. Do
you wish to Debug? Line:99 Error: Object Expected, opens to Just-In-Time
Debugging, says “New Instance of Microsoft Script Editorâ€, Microsoft Script
Editor says “Microsoft Jscript runtime error: Object Expectedâ€â€¦what is this
about?

Unless you want to do freelance script debugging...

Open Internet Explorer | Tools | Internet Options | Advanced tab |
CHECK: Disable script debugging | UNCheck: Display a notification
about every script error | Click Apply | Click OK

Disable script debugging
[Specifies whether you want to turn off your script debugger, if one is
installed. Script debuggers are used by Web site developers to test programs
and scripts on their Web pages.]

Display a notification about every script error
[Specifies whether to display the actual script errors when a page does not
appear properly due to problems with its scripting. This feature is off by
default, but is useful to developers when testing Web pages.]

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Thank you, I'll follow your directions. Thank you for explaining.

But how much of a problem is a script error? Is there somethng more serious
wrong or is it common...
I'm also curious about why it started telling me about it?
once I'd determined it was a legitimate program I opened it to see what it
was...thought..."if I understood this I wouldn't be doing nails for a
living".....W

What I found when I Opened Internet Explorer | Tools | Internet Options |
Advanced tab |
CHECK: Disable script debugging (was already checked)
| UNCheck: Display a notification about every script error(was already
unchecked)
There was also an option for "Disable script debugging other" that was
unchecked, I'm using SBC/Yahoo brower browser, not internet explorer....W

Those particular script errors are not your problem, they are whatever web
site's problem.

Disable script debugging other was added with XPSP2, check it also and apply
it.

I checked "other" and tried the page I kept getting that particular message
on and it show a "runtime error", so I answered "Did this post answer your
question"..."Yes" and got a runtime error...Line:183, Error: Object
Expected..

I changed it from Yahoo browser and looked at IE to make sure it was
checked there to.
So, I'm still being notified even though the box isn't checked, it's a minor
annoyance since you've told me it's nothing wrong with my computer....funny
thing is I've done ratings before and never had the error meassage.
