A reference problem - I THINK?

Okay here's my issue:

i'm originally linking a cell (or referenceing it) to a file named 47523
that contains monthly data. I am wanting to at the end of the month replace
that file named 47523 with a new file with updated data and deleting the old
file. when I perform this operation my linked cells now have a #REF next to
them. Can someone please tell me if there is a "work around"? I know there
are smart people with solutions out there.... Thanks in advance!

Try highlighting all the cells... go to Edit-->Links and then change the
source to the new file?
 
I'm sorry let me be more detailed/specific. I am wanting to replace the tab
with a new tab that contains new info. The tab name will be the same... But
I will be deleting it and that is when I get the "error"... Maybe there is
another solution
