a realted question on dataminers

Thanks Andre. Yes I did run a deep scan while in SM. A
somewhat related question: once these damn things invade a
person's PC and for an example gather data from that PC (in
the case of a dataminer), isn't it too late to remove them
once detected,i.e., surely it doesn't take long for them to
collect the data they want to take?

Data miners are cookies. The name is misleading. Here's a pretty good
tutorial on cookies:

What you are looking for is on pretty nearly the last page-6, as I recall.

Note the links on the final page--lots of good stuff in them, too.
 
And beta 1 does not scan for cookies/dataminers, hopefully by beta 2.
