a program that takes a "picture" of the HD?

Is there a program that will take a "picture" of everything on the HD, and
later do it again, and then produce a list of all the file changes that
happened between pictures?

I would really like to run the "picture program", then install a new
program, then run the "picture program" again and see only file changes,
deletions, and additions that have taken place.
