A Program Is Trying To Access Outlook e-mail Address...

John Stone

Hi -

Whenever I try to send an email message using Word or any
other program, I get an Outlook message informing me
that "a program is trying to access e-mail addresses you
have stored in Outlook". The only choices I get are to
allow access for one instance or for a short period of
time. What I want to do is to ALWAYS allow Word,
PowerPoint, Excel and ACT to access my Outlook e-mail
addresses. How can I do this?

Thanks for your help

ARe you using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 full version - not the free reader? If yes,
then you need to disable the Acrobat .dot file - see this page for details:

I went through the document but cannot find
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
\PDFMOutlook.PDFMOutlook anywhere on my hard drive. I did
every kind of search I could find, but was unable to turn
it up. Any hints as to where it might be locatd would
really help.

Thanks,

John

Milly,

Yes, I just installed Adobe Standard 6.0. Thanks for the
tip. I went to the document you suggested, which says

"To prevent the PDFMaker COM Addin from loading, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
\PDFMOutlook.PDFMOutlook and change the LoadBehavior value
from 3 to 2. Restart Outlook. The PDF functions will still
be available in Word and the other Office programs."

I want to implement this fix, but cannot find this file
anywhere on my computer. Am I missing something or is
there another way to access it?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

This isn't a file on the system. The location is in the registry. Use
regedit.exe to make the modification at the location specified.

I went through the document but cannot find
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
\PDFMOutlook.PDFMOutlook anywhere on my hard drive. I did

it up. Any hints as to where it might be locatd would
really help.

Thanks,

John

John,

Did you ever resolve this problem? I do not have Adobe 6.0, I just have the
free download version.

Each time I try to send or look at an email in Act, I continue to get that
annoying message telling me someone is trying to access my emails from
Outlook. There is no option to just say "yes, always allow".
