A problem with my Word Form

Hello,

I have a couple questions regarding a simple form I've made in Word.

1. I've allowed a field on my form to accept 50 characters, but the "space"
shown on the form appears as if only 6 would fit. I think that may confuse
some. Is there a way to make the grey field area longer?

2. Is there a way to "lock" the form so that my questions on the form can't
have spaces entered between them. Basically only allow the fields to have
data entered into them and prevent someone from adding spaces by hitting
ENTER.

Thank you!

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." For more
about online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles. You may also want to look at
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/LinesInForms.htm.

I suspect that your questions are both answered there. There is a knowledge
base article that tells how to make the Enter key act like a Tab key in a
protected form.

The default for a text field is 6 spaces. You can put in default of fifty
non-breaking spaces if you want. A non-breaking space is created by pressing
Ctrl-Shift-Spacebar.

Hope this helps,
