A network cable is unplugged

I recently installed a D-Link wireless router on my
desktop computer. I use it to network with a laptop with
a network adapter card. The network works great but, a
message bubble in the start up bar keeps popping up on
the desktop. It says, "Local Area Connection. A network
cable is unlugged." The message is inaccurate. I think
this is a Windows XP issue. How do I turn it off?
Thank you.

Hi

It is a Long Shoot.

This error means that some thing tries to connect and there is No
connection.

A faulty NIC might cause such an Error.

If your Network works and the error appear look at the Device manager and
see if there is an additional installation of an NIC. Or a "Ghost"
installation. If you find one get rid of it.

If you Network does not work and your NIC drivers look OK try to install
another NIC.

Jack (MVP-Networking).
