A Lot fo Indetities

Win XP Home SP3

In Documents and Settings under Application Data and Local Settings, I have
about two dozen different Identities. Some show a modification date back to
2004. The ones in Local Setting have only a Microsoft folder. The ones in
Application Data show as empty folders

Do I need to have all these things? If not, how do I determine which I can
delete?

Thank you very much.

No you don't need them. In each identity that you use go to Tools | Options
| Maintenance | Store Folder and write down where it is storing its data.
When all of that information has been collected go to File | Manage
Identities and remove the ones you don't use.
Now use Windows Explorer to delete the folders for the identities you don't
use.
