Is there any freeware to rename all my files let is say in my music folder
to
mp3_1, mp3_2, mp3_100 etc ... based on the number of the files with a
predefined
text as above.

Do a search for BatchRN.zip. It will do what you want.
It is only 27K in zip format.
If you cannot find it e-mail and I'll send a copy.

Try "THE Rename" - http://www.herve-thouzard.com/therenamea.phtml .
Also lets you do stuff like adding dimensions to picture files,
change exteansions.

I personally think it is a hundred times better than the Renamer because it
seems to be able to do more and is eaier to use. It also looks nicer.
