A freaky Windows Problem

This is probably a problem no one has experienced, but here it goes. I've
had another operating system on my computer and I wanted to install
windows xp instead of the other os. Anyway when I stuck in the windows cd
it got to the part where it say's press to boot from the cd. So I did and
after the blank screen, my cd-rom just died. The cd has no scratches on it
what so ever. Anyway, I tried another windows cd and the same thing
happened. I don't know if its the cd-rom, but it does operate normally
under the other operating system and I can even boot from that other os
cd. So, does anyone care to try to guess what's happening?

Well the first thing I would try is use another bootable CD (you don't have to
run it) just to see if its the CD you are trying to use and then try both
CD's in a differant machine altogether and see if it works there... Your CD
ROM might be flakey and about to fail.
Good luck
