A couple of questions

Drew

I currently am running Vista business 32bit but have spent the extra 10
bucks and ordered the 64 bit DVD (not here yet)

Question 1......I have seen posts of no sound on 64 bit is this true ???
Question 2.......Since this is my first 64 bit processor what runs and what
doesn't ??....I play a lot of racing simulators (Microsoft force feedback
,pedals etc)
One last question...If a 64 bit processor is so good (AMD 3200 socket 939)
than why is my WEI score so low (4.1) when every other factor in that score
is a 5.9

graphics 7900GS pcie
memory 2gigs of Ballistix tracer ddr500
hdd 2 160 gig sata drives in a raid 0 format
sound Creative labs x-fi extreme gamer card running Logitech's Z5300E
5.1 system
Monitor Dell 2407 24" digital flat panel

Thanks for any help in these requests..... Remember Apple sucks and Vista
rocks !! XP was once new as well !!

In my opinion in the short time I have played with vista. It still lacks
driver support. And application support for some applications. I personally
would not attempt to make it a gaming OS just yet. Your score will be as low
as the lowest componet in the test.

The issue you need to address is DRIVERS. Many hardware manufacturers have
fair to good support for their devices in the 32-bit arena but are lacking
support in the 64-bit side. I would not install 64-bit Vista on any
computer until I am 100% sure that I will be able to get all the drivers I
will need for every device. Any device with no driver (sound, game device,
etc) will not work under 64-bit Vista.

Depends on the audio chipset and driver -- it is supported in many
cases already.

That is one of those 'discovery things' I suspect.

The 939 socket is OK -- but the 3200 is slowish for top scores. The
thing with the 939, AMD stopped producing the fastest 939's along with
the dual core 939's last year. You could 'power up' and get one of the
939/Opteron's provided you have good cooling for it (the Opteron's are
high power CPU's (110W versus 89W or the newer 65W AM2 CPU's).

Of course if you wanted to move up full blast here, you'd look into the
AM2 boards, an AMD 5200X2, and PC800 DDR2 memory (4 Gig).
