Sometimes the program that's listed on the Pricelessware page doesn't
meet my needs for one reason or another. Sometimes I forget to look.
Usually the former rather than the latter.

Hey John, I enjoy your posts, but you were actually one of the people I
had in mind! BTW, I appreciate your honesty in responding. The posts I
remember were regarding programs that were on PW but you didn't find out
about until asking the group. XXCOPY and Batchrun come to mind...there
have been others. No big deal...my actual issue comes in the next
paragraph...

The main reason I brought up the issue is because I was wondering how
many people had difficulty with the way programs are categorized in PW.
It's hard classifiying programs and I know some posters have missed
programs because they looked in the wrong category. I guess what I'm
saying is if you ever DO have any suggestions for PW categories, don't
hesitate to speak up! PW covers just about every program type
imaginable. And they're all superb! The challenge is in making those
programs easy to search for.

What is the 4?

It's the number of threads started by omega.

dszady, you might want to turn off line wrap when posting
tables -the 'origin' column got wrapped.

I was hoping no one would ask. I haven't any freakin' idea. Guess I'll

I didn't know either, but »Q« recently posted that "origin" is shortened from
"original" -- as in new/original threads started.

Time to change newsreaders again. Just went to a test group. Line wrap on this is always on and it won't accept a zero and 500 doesn't do any good either. I can't say I didn't give it a chance.

Well, that line wasn't wrapped. Must be magic. ;)

The main thing is that you recognize and admit to your addiction.
("Freeware Junkie")
It's great, isn't it!?

Yes, and can you imagine trying to describe your activities to an outsider?
How you wanted to do some particular function, downloaded 25 programs that
all do that function, then ran each one, and spent a month on the project,
etc? Not to mention those outsiders who'd stare at you blankly, then ask
you, in their attempt to be polite... "What icon did you click?"

.. . .

Btw, the ACF threads are sure looking great! Remember how bad it peaked out
just recently. Where one had the hardest time wading through all the krap,
in the attempt to find those rare posts about freeware programs. Currently
just about everything is on freeware, and there are so many informative
messages...

The importand part will be whether ACF sustains that momentum after the PL
discussions are past. Or whether ACF turns back to its other amusements
(flames, meta-politics, full-time chat meanderings, obsessive "netiquette"
citations, etc).
